Learning how to live with trauma with thanks to Harry Potter
Nic has good days and bad, but he doesn’t mind anymore. He has a PhD in Translational Health Research from QUT and undertook postdoctoral research at University College London. He likes to think of himself as a recovering academic and has tried his hand at performance art, bioethics and community development. He started his career working in respite houses for children with disabilities and fell in love with listening.
He worked in the disability sector in every way he could in Australia and the UK, and then worked for global foundations and international development charities in the UK, focused on biomedical research and public health. In his role at the Movember Foundation, he oversees global mental health and suicide prevention programs for men and boys.
