Aleesha Rodriguez | 2019 Speaker
The energy solution – it’s in your hands!
Aleesha Rodriguez is an activist, social scientist, and currently a PhD Candidate in the Digital Media Research Centre at QUT. Her research explores online public debates about the ‘world’s largest lithium-ion battery’ – the Hornsdale Power Reserve – built by Tesla in South Australia. Previously, Aleesha worked as a Mac and iOS technician for Apple and she co-organised the School Strike 4 Climate march on March 15, 2019, where 10,000 students and their supporters rallied in Brisbane for climate justice.
Aleesha’s work interrogates the intersection of the environment, technology, energy, and society, and she advocates for urgent, yet considered, action on the climate crisis.
