How do I make an appointment?
Please refer to the booking and referral details within each Clinic. You can alternatively call us on 07 3138 9777. Reception hours are 8:30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
How much does it cost?
Please refer to fees.
Applicable fees will be discussed with you when booking your appointment as fees vary by service. Please enquire with our reception staff about the service you are interested in and further details can be provided as to the relevant costs.
Discounts apply for QUT staff and students. Medicare & HICAPS are applicable for some of our services, please enquire with reception.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payment by EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard. We are unable to accept payment in cash.
How long will my appointment take?
The length of the appointment depends on the services provided. Students may take longer times due to their learning requirements and the thoroughness of service, as all student consultations are supervised by leading accredited clinicans to ensure high quality care.
Please enquire with our reception staff regarding the length of appointment when booking if you have any concerns.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is necessary, except for exercise physiology services.
If your health professional has provided a referral please bring with you or submit online via the referral link.
What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?
Please consider bringing the following items to your appointment:
- Letter of referral (if applicable)
- Payment method
- Medicare, HCC or PHF card
- Relevant x-rays (Podiatry, Exercise Physiology)
- Footwear (school shoes, sports shoes, orthotics – Podiatry)
- Spectacles (Optometry).
Who can access the services?
QUT Health Clinics is open to the public and new patients are always welcome.
Can I claim on Medicare or Private Health insurance?
As our services are provided by students and are not covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance, however our Optometry Clinic offers HICAPS for spectacle and contact lens purchases which can be claimed through your health fund.
Many of our services are provided by our students under the supervision of accredited clinicians and are therefore at very competitive prices. We aim to keep our fees lower than most health fund gap payments, and well under what you would expect to pay in private practice (please refer to the Appointments page for more information on fees).
Is car parking available?
Complimentary undercover parking is available for the duration of your appointment, however parking spaces are limited.
